Paul Stutes, Vice President and Co-Owner of Stella Maris LLC
Stella Maris is experiencing strong growth and consequently growing our employee count. As this is occurring, we are expanding our management team to accommodate. Having a young management team taking on this role for the first time in their careers posed challenges for both the managers and employees. Cookie provided skills and insight to the managers, which in turn, made our managers more confident and effective. The sessions with all of our employees drove home our desire for all team members to be solution providers. Only allowing for a grievance if accepting the responsibility of proposing a solution. As a result, we are confidently adding new client base and increasing throughout. My personal sessions also were beneficial in identifying my personal and company goals, monitoring how I spend my time and evaluating if I’m achieving those goals.
“As a new manager, I had to gain confidence and learn to trust my own intuition. Cookie taught me how to go from task oriented to the visionary I needed to be for my team.”
Manager of Benefits Division – Oil and Gas Industry Company
One of the hardest things that newly promoted leaders have to learn is that the skills that got them where they are not going to be the skills that are going to get them where they need to go. They are very good at what they do, but they now have to learn how to go from ‘task oriented’ to ‘vision oriented’ very quickly. So we worked individually with Manager to strengthen their leadership skills. We identified what their goals and priorities were, taught them strategies for effectively communicating and delegating to staff, make sound decisions quickly and efficiently, and build a heightened sense of confidence.
“The tools I learned from working with Cookie helped me to plan, orchestrate, and implement new strategies that immediately increased productivity and effectiveness of myself and my entire team. As a result, I am now a much better confident leader, communicator, negotiator and my department runs like a well-oiled machine.”
